New Study Release: The study on "The First International Assessment Of Space Solar Power : Opportunities, Issues And Potential Pathways Forward" is being distributed by the International Academy of Astronautics to delegations of the forty-ninth session of the Scientific and Technical subcommittee of the Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer on Monday, 6-17 February 2012.

IAA Spring Dinner: The registration form for the Spring Dinner to be held on Monday 12 March, 2012 has been surface mailed on February 2. The deadline to register is March 5, 2012.

First IAA Astrodynamics Conference: Online registration for the First IAA Astrodynamics Conference in Porto, Portugal is now available.
 
Heads of Space Agencies Summit Follow-On: A questionnaire on the prioritization of the Summit declaration was sent to 1200 Academicians. The questionnaire included open questions seeking for indentifying volunteers and new ideas. The IAA Board of Trustees has been consulted to endorse the results by mail ballot. The final synthesis will be available next week. First priorities will be sent to all Academicians to seek for concrete proposals for the next two years.

An IAA plenary event at the International Astronautical Congress was held on October 6th 2011 in Cape Town, South Africa (see the video at http://iaaweb.org/content/view/465/626/). The International Academy of Astronautics (IAA) hosted landmark Heads of Space Agencies Summit in Washington, D.C. on the occasion of its 50th anniversary on 17th November 2010. The Summit gathered 30 heads of space agencies along with 500+ Academicians, world leaders and experts. All heads of agencies have welcomed the IAA Summit Declaration and highlighted the need to foster closer international cooperation across four topic areas to strengthen the effectiveness and support of global space activities.
